Chad is happily married to a wonderful woman, Kristen, and is the proud step-dad to Emily Peters. He also is active in his church, Grace Fellowship, in Kingsport, TN. Without a doubt, our professional staff feels pride when we are able to care for a veteran and their family. It is our way of expressing gratitude for their service to the country. In her current position as HR Administrator, Paula is responsible for the management and administration of company policies, benefits administration, and overseeing human resources activities. Paula is married to David Akers and has two sons, Eric and Justin, and a grandson, Eric Jr.
But, you may certainly choose to celebrate their life in a more unique setting. No matter where you decide to gather together, such a service will make a difference in the lives of all who attend. I am still not sure how I ended up in the funeral business. I started out doing community outreach with my husband, David. I learned I really enjoyed the business and became licensed in preneed funeral planning. Before this, I graduated from the University of Tennessee then moved back to Nashville.

You can choose to follow tradition, with a viewing, and then a funeral service in a church or memorial chapel. Or you could decide to have a more relaxed service, even in your family home. In his current position as IT Manager, Chad provides technical support to Heritage Family offices, so each location can better serve and take care of their families.

Thomas is from Lincolnton, GA, and is a 4th generation funeral director and cemeterian. He is a graduate of both Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service and The Georgia School of Ministry. Thomas is married to his best friend Erin Burton, and they have three children, Caden, Kaylee, and Carly. Renee Lockhart is President and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Operating, LLC. Renee joined Heritage Family Funeral Services in April of 1990. She has served as a member of the Elizabethton Civitan Club, the Rotary Club of Elizabethton and the board of Abuse Alternatives, Inc.

Celebrate Life
She had a kind and caring heart and really loved her family. Even though I didn't see her often because we always lived far apart we talked on the phone and tried to keep in touch, I will miss our talks. Originally from Middlesboro, Kentucky, Renee is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Accountancy. She has served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President and President of the ETSU Alumni Association Board and currently serves as a member of that board and of the board of the ETSU Foundation. She was inducted into the ETSU College of Business Hall of Fame in 2003.

Our company history began over 60 years ago with the founding of the North Funeral Home in Elizabethton, Tennessee. When it was sold to Donald W. Tetrick, Sr., it became the first Tetrick Funeral Home. Donald W. Tetrick, Sr. operated the funeral home by himself until 1968, when he was joined in the business by his son, Richard Tetrick.
I love my community and am involved in Rotary, United Way, Bristol TN Parks and Recreation, and also a BTES board member. I'm also serving as County Commissioner of Sullivan County. Greg is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Georgia and Alabama, and a Certified licensed insurance agent in Georgia. He is certified by the American Academy of Bereavement as a grief facilitator. Mr. Cannon is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, Decatur, GA, where he served as class president and a member of Pi Sigma Eta.

As a fourth generation of Akard's, I am proud to be serving the Bristol area in the funeral service business. I am a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Horticulture degree. I hold a license to work with pre-planning funerals and acquired my Funeral Director License in July of 2008.
Honoring a life means acknowledging and showing respect for the individual of the personality and uniqueness of the life's path of the deceased. Everyone’s life is unique, worth celebrating and honoring. He was an experienced electrician and veteran of the US Army. Donna and I were sorry to learn that Annette has passed away. She was always so good to our Mother & I know Mom loved her very much. Annette always professed a strong faith in the Lord and will be at peace now, resting in His arms and with her parents and Carolyn.
